Dorothy Gabucci Acampora, 91, formerly of Grove Road, North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Regency House, Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late Gregory G. Acampora. Dorothy was born in New Haven on February 6, 1925; daughter of the late Americo and Josephine Castiglione Gabucci; had worked as a bookkeeper for Rossotto Construction, Inc. for over 35 years and later the former Etkind & Salcoff, Inc.; was a member of the Order of the Sons of Italy, Greater New Haven Lodge #37, the Marchegiano Society Ladies Auxiliary and the North Haven Senior Center. Mother of Patricia A. Acampora, Peter (Josephine) Acampora and Gregory (Marie) Acampora. Grandmother of Amanda Acampora, Brian (Lindsey)Acampora, Jody (John) Rowley. Great-Grandmother of Matthew, Spencer and Parker Rowley. Sister of Harold (Teresa) Gabucci and the late Leona Zandri and Raymond Gabucci. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the nurses and staff of the Regency House for the excellent comfort and care given to Dorothy.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm.
