Elfriede Kastenhuber, 76, of Northford passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of 52 years to Otto Kastenhuber. Elfriede was born in Germany on January 5, 1938; daughter of the late Friedl and Else Meffert; had worked for Parametrics and later as a Buyer for Krell Industries. Mother of Andy (Stephanie) Kastenhuber, Kenny (Mariann) Kastenhuber and Steve (Maria) Kastenhuber. Grandmother of Zachary, Jake, Justin, Caitlyn, Kayla and Jenna. Sister of Inge Lang and Roswitha Borquin. Predeceased by her step-father Joesef Meffert. To know Elfie was to love her, anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her came to love her wonderful disposition, her positive and caring demeanor. An attitude that was contagious and warming. She was a great listener and a very spiritual person. Elfriede touched so many people, she wore her heart on her sleeve and with all.
