Helen Sherman Simpson, 95, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2016 at the Masonic Hospice in Wallingford.  She was the wife of the late Walter L. Simpson.  Helen was born in North Haven on December 5, 1920; daughter of the late Glen P. and Madaleine Merrill Sherman. A lifelong resident of North Haven, she cherished her family and spending holidays and special occasions together, enjoyed working at the polls at election time, trips to Maine, and had fond memories of years spent at Hammonasset with family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Robert Simpson and his wife Rita of Fort Myers, FL; Richard Simpson and his wife Marion of Englewood, FL; and her daughters, Carolyn Brandi and her husband Art of Hamden, CT, Diane Simpson of Wallingford, CT, and Sherry Beth Simpson and her husband Reed Talmadge of Ashford, CT.  She is also survived by her beloved 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, a great niece and nephew and cousin.  She was predeceased by a brother, Merrill Sherman, and a sister, Glenna Hall. 

Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 65 North Main St., Wallingford, to attend a celebration of her life and Rite of Christian burial Monday April 25th at 10:00 am and also to attend the committal service immediately following in the Northford Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday April 24th from 4 to 6 pm in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
