Bernard J. DePalma, 91, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with his family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Ann Proto DePalma.  Mr. DePalma was born in New Haven on April 13, 1924; son of the late Marco and Michelina Federico DePalma; had worked for the former Eastern Standard, Fluid Control, North Haven Recreation Center and security at Southern Connecticut State University.  He was a member of the Pine Grove Men’s Club Association, enjoyed Broadway and musicals; was a NY Giants and Yankees fan; was a parishioner, former Eucharistic Minister and choir member at St. Barnabas Church.  Father of David (Diane) DePalma, Bernie (Mary) DePalma and Irene (Dominic) Savo.  Grandfather of Jamie (Brett) Ferguson, Dominic (Desiree) Savo, Taylor and Turner DePalma.  Great-Grandfather Kylie Ann Ferguson and arriving next week Brayden William Ferguson. Predeceased by brothers, Patrick, David and Matthew DePalma, and sisters Mary Guirino, Julia Parise, Ana Perillo, Phyliss Tarnacki, Lena Murgo, Sylvia DePalma, Mabel Carangelo, Rose Ciociola and Louise Hafki. Also survived by nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 10:30.  Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 am.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00 am.  Entombment will follow in the All Saints Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 or the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT  06492.
