Michael Anthony Napolitano, 93, of East Haven, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 13, 2013 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 67 years to Katherine (Cecere) Napolitano. Born in Schenectady, NY on June 7, 1920; son of the late Frank and Anna Marie Napolitano; served his country faithfully for 16 years as a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Michael was a professional welder by trade having worked for American Locomotive Company in NY, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, North Haven and Electric Boat, New London until his retirement. Michael was an avid bowler & golfer; loved fishing; was an adoring fan of UCONN Women’s Basketball; was an active member of the East Haven Senior Center and a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul’s Church. Father of Ret. EHPD Frank (Linda) Napolitano of East Haven, Anthony (Barbara) Napolitano of Tamarac, FL, Robert Napolitano of North Haven and his friend Kristin Lund. Grandfather of Frank Napolitano, Jr., Stephanie and Nicole Napolitano all of East Haven, Jennifer Napolitano of Northford. Also survived by five great-grandchildren whom he cherished. Michael will leave a big void in the lives of his loving family.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 19th to attend a mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Words cannot express the sorrow we felt upon hearing of Mike’s passing. Mike was an outstanding man, Dad, “Grand”Dad, and “Grand”Daddy. We loved him very much. Our prayers are with the entire family. I know he will be missed, and thought of each and every day! God Bless All~
