John E. Cecarelli, 86, died at his home on June 30, 2013. He was the husband of the late Edith W. Cecarelli. John was born on August 1, 1926, in Northford and was a lifelong resident. He spent his entire life working on the Cecarelli farm which he dearly loved. He spent many years going to the Flea Market on the Boulevard selling vegetables on weekends. He loved going to church. He loved to sing and loved his animals. He was an avid baseball and softball player. He is survived by his children Edith C. Koproski (Theodore) of Northford, Sarah C. Drisko of Arcata, California, and John E. Cecarelli, Jr. of Fultonville, New York. He is survived by his grandchildren Amy L. Draghi (Richard) of Wallingford, Katie M. Mattice (Brian) of Wallingford, Heather M. Koproski of Northford, Glenna Drisko of Paris, France and Evan Anderson of Prescott, Arizona. He is also survived by three great-granddaughters, Grace and Emma Draghi and Abilene Harrison-Drisko. He is also survived by two sisters Helen Burdacki of Wallingford and Clara DiBenedetto of East Haven and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Angelina Cecarelli, his brothers Anthony, Franklin, Thomas, Andrew, Nelson, Joseph and Louis and his sisters Mary Smith and Alice Merrill.
Private funeral services were entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Interment was in Northford Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Church, P.O. Box 96, Northford, CT 06472.
