Nora A. Seward Saddig, 86, of 520 Pool Road, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the CT Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Walter C. Saddig. Nora was born in New Haven on June 9, 1927; daughter of the late William and Gladys Burns Seward; had worked for many years at the Yankee Doodle Coffee Shop in New Haven and later as an assembler for Edal Industries. Nora enjoyed bingo, the casino and trips to Las Vegas. Mother of Nora (William) Cash of Branford and Walter (Rosanne) Saddig of North Haven. Grandmother of Tara (Nathan) Bowers and Marc (Lindsay) Saddig. Great-Grandmother of Molly Rose Bowers and Lucy Joy Bowers. Sister of Gladys Welchans, William (Cathy) Seward, Jr. all of New Haven, James (Mary) Seward of East Haven and the late Mary Burwell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of CT Hospice of Branford and CT Hospice Homecare of Wallingford and especially to Dr. Georgia Kelley for all the excellent comfort and care given to Nora. Thank you also to her neighbors and friends for their acts of kindness and heartfelt prayers.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in Montowese Cemetery.
