Carmel Manacchio Cote, 100, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Alphonse “Allie†Cote. Mrs. Cote was born in New Haven on November 28, 1912; daughter of the late Frank and Lillie M. Johnson Manacchio; was a member of the Marian Guild at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church; enjoyed cooking, going to the casino, but most of all was dedicated to her family and extended family whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Rosemary M. Cote and John F. Cote, Sr. both of Hamden. Grandmother of John F. Cote, Jr., David B. (Ann) Cote, Renee C. (Mark) Wozniak and Kevin D. (Trisha) Cote. Sister of Phyliss Squeglia of West Haven, Helen Burness of Bristol, Laura Rudolph of New Haven and the late Lucille Wnek, Benjamin Zambrano and Maisey Hussey. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughters-in-law Carol and Ann Cote.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 11:00. Family and friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.
