Norman R. Specter, 89, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Bridgeport Manor. Norman was born in Summerville, MA on May 12, 1924; son of the late Harold and Lillian Schuckrowe Specter; he served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during WW II with the 82nd Airborne Division having seen action in the Battle of the Bulge in Normandy. Norman had worked as a Truck Driver and enjoyed flying. Father of Richard and Dennis Specter. Brother of Barbara (Jerry) Rogers. Also survived by five grandchildren and his dear friend Marion DeMaio. Predeceased by several sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 10:00. Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until time of services. Interment will follow in Cambridge Cemetery, Massachusetts. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, CT 38105.
