Annette Galardi Carlquist, 90, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Friday September 25, 2015 at the Hamden Health Care Center surrounded by her family.  Annette was born in New Haven on April 2, 1925, the daughter of the late James S. and Rose Galardi.  Beloved wife of the late Herbert C. Carlquist, Jr., Annette worked for the Hamden Library for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of Saint Rita's Catholic Church and the Hamden Festival Chorus, and a dear friend to all who knew and remember her.   Annette was very proud of her four children:  Roseanne Carlquist (James Cardwell) of Toronto, Canada, Patricia Brown (Paul) of New Haven, Susan Muro (Richard) of East Haven, and James Carlquist (Michele) of Austin, Texas, her seven grandchildren:  Joseph Cardwell, Christopher Brown (Lisa), Jennifer Brown Tucker (Stephen), Michael Muro, Kelly, James and Megan Carlquist, and her great-grandchildren: Megan and Jillian Doheny, Nicole and Natalie Brown and Bradley Tucker.  She is survived by her sister Connie Silvestro (Michael) of Hamden, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was predeceased by her two brothers Andrew and John Galardi.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Tuesday morning at 9:15.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's Church, Hamden at 10:00 AM.  The visiting hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamden Library, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT  06518.
