James R. DeLucia, 85, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Lois Olmstead DeLucia.  James was born in New Haven on December 8, 1930; son of the late James J. and Mary Papa DeLucia; had worked as a crane operator for the C.W. Blakeslee Construction Company for many years; was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #478; was an avid bowler; loving the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening, building things and just tinkering around his home.  James loved his home in upstate New York, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching westerns on the television.  Father of Beverly Arsenault (Richard Thurston), Sheree Alexander (Lawrence Nardi) and Karen Riccio (Shawn).  Brother of Michael DeLucia (Betty), Salvatore DeLucia (Evelyn), Joseph DeLucia (Rose) and the late Nicholas DeLucia.  Also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Predeceased by his son-in-law’s David Arsenault and Thomas Alexander, and his grandson Jeffrey T. Alexander.  The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Michelle Kenniston for all the comfort and care she provided to James and enabling him to remain in his home until his peaceful passing.

Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday afternoon at 12:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 am until time of services.  Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association, P.O.
