Helen M. Koval Decho “Grandma”, 92, of 216 Quinnipiac Ave., North Haven, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Apple Rehab in Middletown. She was the wife of the late Henry M. Decho. Born in Shelton on February 6, 1922; daughter of the late Adam and Elizabeth Fabian Koval. She was active with the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts Troop #3 of Derby and Camp Strang of Goshen. Her hobbies were cooking, knitting and sewing. Mother of SallyAnn (Elmer) Pelaggi of Northford and Henry J. Decho of Naugatuck. Grandmother of HollyAnn (David) Obier, Jacqueline (Richard) Decho-Holm and Matthew Decho. Great-grandmother of Ryan & Kyle Obier and Tyler Holm. Sister of Elsie Sill of Wallingford and the late Joseph Koval.

Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave., North haven on Wednesday morning at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial. The committal services will be in St. Thomas Villanova Cemetery, Goshen, at a later date. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts, 111 New Haven Avenue Derby, CT, 06418.
