Margaret Pavlovich DeRosa, 94, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Thomas DeRosa. Margaret was born in New Haven on June 3, 1922; daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Wargo Pavlovich; had worked for the former Griest Manufacturing and later as a secretary for the New Haven Board of Education. Mother of Joseph DeRosa (Donna Halten) and the late Linda DeRosa Hall. Grandmother of Traci (Ted) Szydlik, Shaun Hall and Michael DeRosa. Great-Grandmother of Christopher and Stephanie. Sister of William Pavlovich and the late Julia Bellmore, Mary Houston, Kay DeCarlo, Helen Gorton, Joseph and George Pavlovich. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Whitney Manor Rehab and Care Center for the excellent care given to Margaret.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30. Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
