Salvatore J. Migliaro, 92, of Wallingford formerly of North Haven passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2015 at MidState Medical Center, Meriden with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 69 years to Rose Christoforo Migliaro. Sal was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 19, 1922; son of the late Christ and Marie Minitolli Migliaro; served his country faithfully in the US Army during WW II and had worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local #443 for many years until his retirement. Sal was an avid fan of the former Brooklyn Dodgers, enjoyed frequent trips to the casino and doing his CT State Lottery scratch-off tickets. Father of Mary (Jack) Dell’Oro, Patty (Ciro) Longobardi and Chris (Barbara) Migliaro. Grandfather of John (Jani) Dell’Oro, Rosemary (Dan) Clark, Patty (Mark) Dyer-Powers, Kevin (Jenny) Dell’Oro, Maria (Jeff) Hague, Alicia (Sal) Giaimo, Ciro (Jen) Longobardi, Carisa (Jeff) Naples, Christopher (Kate) Migliaro and Michael Migliaro. Great-Grandfather of Domenic Dell’Oro, Justin & Brendan Clark, Sabrina and Eli Dyer, Melissa, Brooks and Casey Dell’Oro, Andy & Teddy Hague, Salvatore, Marco and Gia Giaimo, Anthony, Marcello and Angelo Naples, Christopher & Albert Migliaro. Brother of Jean (Michael) Balac and the late Anthony Migliaro. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the doctors, nurses and the entire staff of Pavillion D at MidState Medical Center for all the excellent care and comfort they provided to Sal.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection, Wallingford at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Ste. 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
