Carol E. Durkin Oesterlin, 84, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at the Benchmark Senior Living, Hamden. She was the beloved wife of the late Siegfried Walter Oesterlin. Carol was born in Waterbury on July 27, 1931; daughter of the late Cyril and Josephine Lynch Durkin. She worked as the Vice President for Connecticut Savings Bank; was patient, generous, energetic & outgoing with deep appreciation for outdoors & her family; enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, participating in community events, volunteering and traveling with her husband. Mother of Sarah (Marcos) Santiago and Matthew (Renee) Oesterlin. Sister of Arline Roche, Louise Rudnicki and the late Robert Durkin. Also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (Little Church in the Wilderness), Killingworth on Saturday morning for services at 11:00 and to attend committal services immediately following in the Evergreen Cemetery, Killingworth.
