Esterina Aulino Morcaldi, 96, of Blake Street, New Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the CT Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Fred Morcaldi. Mrs. Morcaldi was born in San Lorenzello, Province of Benevento, Italy on September 26, 1917; daughter of the late Giuseppe and Angela DeMaio Aulino. Esterina was a war bride and came to this country in 1947 through Ellis Island. Mother of James (Maria) Morcaldi, Arthur (Mary) Morcaldi and Larry Morcaldi. Grandmother of Julie Morcaldi, James Morcaldi, Jr., Kim (Corey) Hein and Janet Morcaldi. Great-Grandmother of Matthew Morcaldi, Dustin and Karly Hein. Predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-laws, Anthony & Enza Aulino, Arthur & Elena Aulino, Ricardo Aulino and sisters and brother-in-laws, Maria & Gaetano Dilillo, Josephine & Steven Zanfardino, Elvira & Frank Morcaldi.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Friday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.

We are very sorry for your loss. Esther was always very nice to me, from the days on Winchester Avenue until the last time we visited her on Blake Street. May her memory be for a blessing.
