Joseph J. Ferraro, 87, formerly of Pool Road, North Haven and Washington Avenue, Hamden, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Branford Hills Health Care Center. He was the husband of Janet C. Poudrier Ferraro.  Joseph was born in Hamden on July 10, 1926; son of the late Gerald and Mary Bernardo Ferraro; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during WW II and had worked for the former Marlin Firearms of North Haven for 33 years until his retirement.  Father of Joseph (Carol) Ferraro, Jr., Richard (Janet) Ferraro and Robert (Vivian) Ferraro.  Brother of Connie Laudano, Rocco Ferraro and the late John and Ted Ferraro, Mary Giammattei, Camille Bunnell and Angel Beckstein.  Also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning 9:30.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00.  Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.   The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
