Richard “Dick” J. Beedle, Sr., 83, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Village Green, Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Stumpf Beedle. Dick was born in Highland Park, Michigan on February 19, 1932; son of the late Joseph E. and Mildred L. McCleary Beedle and was the owner and operator of Dick’s Locksmith for many years. Father of Katharina Blanchard (James), Paul Beedle (Sarah), Richard Beedle, Jr., Sherry Johnson (Robert), Diane Beedle. Step-father of Marlise Langan (Glenn), Harry Beedle, David Beedle (Cheryl) and Sandra Merle. Brother of Harry Beedle (Madelein) and the late Terry Schingler, Thomas and Robert Beedle. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the nurses and staff at the Village Green for the excellent care and comfort provided to Dick.
Family and friends may call at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday evening, September 9th from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
Dear Cathy, So sorry to read of your husbands passing. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I know there will be a terrible void in your life. Hope to see you at the caregiver's support group soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Cathy.
