Elaine Rolando Kubicza, 92, of Bristol, formerly of Homewood Avenue, North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Pines at Bristol. She was the wife of the late Francis “Babe” Kubicza. Elaine was born in West Haven on November 28, 1922; daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Barcella Rolando; had worked for the former Marlin Firearms for many years until her retirement. Elaine was Past Chapeau of Salon 60, 8 & 40; Past President of the American Legion Post #88 Ladies Auxiliary of Hamden and Past Department President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Sister of Alice (Edward) Belbusti and the late Joseph Rolando. Sister-in-law of Roberta Rolando. Aunt of Debbie Amarante, Sue (Cory) Palmisano, Tresa Salters and Paula (Bill) Thompson. Also survived by seven great nieces and great nephews, and a great great niece. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of the Pines at Bristol.

 

Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Friday morning at 10:00 am to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 in memory of Elaine’s father Joseph Rolando. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with her arrangements.
