Janet Grublerski Szeliga, 97, formerly of 165 Clintonville Road, North Haven went to Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Elim Park, Cheshire. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Szeliga. Janet was born in New Haven on April 9, 1919; daughter of the late Constantine and Hannah Matulaitis Grublerski. She leaves behind a sister, Aldona Zileviciene in Lithuania; her dear friend Rose Christoforo Kenney and Rose’s children, James (Cynthia) Kenney, Jr. who was her Godchild, Susan (Vera Levis) Kenney, Anne (John) Paine and Rose’s six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Liudas Grublerski and her dear friend James Kenney, Sr. Janet worked for 32 years at National Folding Box Company in New Haven and later for the O.F. Mossberg Company for several years until her retirement. She was a kind and grateful woman and enjoyed spending many memorable times after her husband’s passing with the Kenney family, enjoying holidays, going to the summer cottage and just being a part of their family. A “Thank You” to the Staff of Elim Park for their care and compassion. Janet lived in North Haven for many years, moving to Winter Haven, Florida in 1984 until moving back to North Haven.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Monica Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Monica Church Trust Fund, 1331 Middletown Avenue, Northford, CT 06472.
