Dr. Kevin George Basmadjian, 51, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Emily Remington Smith and father of Christian Joseph and Carly Elizabeth Basmadjian.  Kevin was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 11, 1965, son of Carole Basmadjian and the late Alvin George Basmadjian. Kevin received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, his Master’s degree from Wayne State University, and his PhD from Michigan State University.  Kevin joined the faculty at Quinnipiac University in 2004, was appointed Interim Dean in 2012 and appointed Dean in 2014.  He is survived by his siblings Jennifer (David) Findling, Christopher (Shannon) Basmadjian and Kenneth Basmadjian, and his in-laws, Peggy (Forest) Merrill, Craig Smith, Jr., Elizabeth (Louis) Paladino, Dabney (Mark) Moncher and C. Craig Smith, III.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Spring Glen Church, 1825 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, on Friday from 3 to 8 pm and are also invited to attend the funeral services at the church on Saturday morning at 10:00 am.  Interment will be privately held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Max Sinoway Baseball League, Spring Glen Church Theatre Ministry, or to the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET) for Christian and Carly.
