Constance (Coni) Thompson, 85, of Palm Coast, Florida formerly from Ansonia, CT passed away peacefully on August 15, 2014 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the wife of the late Warren Thompson. Born April 21, 1929 in Derby,CT she was the daughter of the late Sophie and James Sorrentino Sr.  Coni was predeceased by her brother Dr. James Sorrentino.  She leaves behind her loving son Thomas (Gwen) Thompson of East Haven, CT and her beloved dog Holly. Special thanks to her sister in law Penny Sorrentino of Wilton, CT for her love and support to Coni and her family during this difficult time.  She is also survived by nieces and nephew Lisa (Marin) Stremiek of Wilton, CT, Patty Adams of Colorado and Jake Sorrentino of NYC  and their children Grace, Vivian, Henry and James.  The family appreciates the care and assistance she received in Florida form Dr. Dale Intihar, Dr. Padmaja, Dr. Sai and her group of “girls” which enabled Coni to stay in Florida as long as possible.  An avid animal lover she volunteered at the Palm Coast Humane Society and was involved with the feral cat program in the community.

The visiting hour will be Friday, August 22nd from 5 to 6 PM at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Palm Coast Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32137 or the Animal Haven, Inc. 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.  Burial will be private at a later date.
