John L. Kunde, 83, of Eastern Street, New Haven, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at the St. Raphael campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of the late Shirley Wilson Kunde. John was born in Middletown, New York on November 23, 1930; son of the late Emil and Jennie Conklin Kunde; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean Ward; had worked for Macy’s for many years until his retirement and loved to travel with his wife. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Also survived by his beloved dog, Cha-Cha.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Thursday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 am. A Graveside service with full military honors will be conducted in All Saints Cemetery at 10:00 with the Rev. Owen Sanderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr. #3, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
