Olympia Virginia (D'Amelio) Bergami, 95, of North Haven, CT, wife of the late Aldo Bergami, passed into eternal life on February 18, 2015, in her cherished pink house with her daughter, Olie, by her side. Olympia was born February 11, 1920 to the late Antonio and Virginia (Bosco) D'Amelio. She met her husband, Aldo, at Seamless Rubber Company and, after a brief courtship, married in St. Anthony Church in 1955. Olympia and Aldo moved to North Haven where they raised their three daughters. Olympia dedicated her life to her family and found great joy in her grand and great-grandchildren. Olympia's depth of love for her family was rivaled only by the depth of her faith.
Olympia is survived by her three daughters Olympia (Rick) Riley, Linda (Michael) Frey and Jean Parisi (Andrew Sterchak), and grandchildren Renee Riley Gardner (Gary), Jillian Frey (Kyle Manjuck), and James Frey, and great-grandchildren Ayden, Isabelle and Jacob Gardner, her sister Carmel Verdi, and nieces and nephews. Olympia was predeceased by brothers Nicholas and Ralph DeMelio and sister, Rose Torino.
A mass, celebrating Olympia's life, was held at St. Barnabas Church on February 24, 2015.
