Leo Ambrosini, 83, of Oak Hill Drive, East Haven passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Branford Hills Healthcare Center. He was the husband of 61 years to Marion Esposito Ambrosini. Born in Schenectady, New York on July 1, 1927; son of the late Angelo and Concetta Finelli Ambrosini. Leo had worked as a Machinist for Amtrak for over 30 years until his retirement; he was a member of the Columbia Club of West Haven, the Marchegian Club of New Haven and was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Father of Leona Ambrosini of North Haven and David Ambrosini of Cheshire. Grandfather of Nicole Guidi and Carisa Esposito. Brother of Peter Ambrosini of New Haven. Brother-in-law of Michael (Gabriella) Esposito of East Haven. Also survived by numorous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of whom he was very fond. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of the Branford Hills Healthcare Center for all the care and comfort they provided to Leo and his family.
His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Friday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
