Terry Michael Mixon, 54, of Thompson Street, North Haven, CT passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rose DiSanto Mixon. Terry was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 27, 1956 and was the son of Sylvia Marlborough Mixon of Carriere, MS and the late Robert M. Mixon II. Terry was self employed as a Consultant in the Insullation Industry and “Green†efforts in energy conservation. He was owner of Stead-Fast Custom Linings of East Haven, CT until 2007. Terry also worked many years “off-shore†in the Oil Industry. When Catrina hit New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Terry brought trailer full of supplies to family and friends during the days after which will never be forgotten. Father of Danielle Cristy Mixon and Stephanie Rose Mixon both of North Haven, CT. Brother of Robert M. (Pam) Mixon III of Hattiesburg, MS, Ettienne S. (Jill) Mixon, Robin M. (Joseph) Bruno all of Carriere, MS and the late Ronald J. Mixon. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Picayune, MS. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT has been entrusted with his arrangements. A Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Therese Church on Middletown Ave., North Haven, CT on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:30 AM
Rose, Stephanie, Danielle, Aunt Sylvia, Bobby, ET and Robin….My heart aches with and for ya’ll. I know its been a long time since I have seen you all but I do love and think of ya’ll often. We all know Terry is in a much better place now & is in the arms of God. He will forever remain in our hearts. In time our hearts will heal but we can keep his memory alive. It will so hard to face the first year without your him, but the love of our families and friends can carry you all through. My heart is and will always be with you all. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you all today and always…Karen
