Karen Jensen (Jacobson) died after a long string of illnesses on Sunday, March 15 in New Haven, CT, at the age of 74.  Karen was born on July 7, 1940 and was daughter of the late Carl E. W. and Hannah (Grund) Jacobson. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John H. Jensen Sr. of North Haven and her loving children, Linnea Wolfe of Portsmouth, RI, Kirstin Jensen of Pittsburgh, PA, and John H. Jensen, Jr. of North Haven, CT as well as their spouses. Grandchildren that adored their G-Ma were; Hannah Bruder, Brian and Victoria Wolfe, Juan Carlos and Pilar Puyana, & Casey and JJ Jensen. She also leaves a brother, Walter (Allean) Jacobson of Litchfield, CT. For many years she served as bookkeeper for her husband’s businesses, then for 5 years was Recreation Therapy Coordinator at Brookhollow Health Care Center and ended her career as manager of the cafeteria at Montowese Elementary School in North Haven. For the last 7 years, she participated in a clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Karen and her husband liked to travel especially on cruises with family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching all of the sporting events. Karen was a huge UConn Huskies fan and was known for her very loud and vocal viewing of the sport. She was patriotic to the core and was a huge fan of anything red, white and blue.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to the Bethesda Lutheran Church, 305 St. Ronan Street, New Haven on Wednesday morning at 10:00 to attend a funeral service and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in the North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 pm at North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
