Rose Angela (Rotondo) Barone died peacefully on the third of November 2015 in New Haven, CT at the age of 90.  Rose was born on the 20th of October 1925 to Teresina Cappetta (Izzo) and Francesco Rotondo in New Haven, CT.  She was a long time resident of North Haven, marrying her husband Orlando Barone in 1953 and raising her children in their family home in the Montowese district.  Rose spent her childhood in the Fair Haven School District and later worked at Ideal Shirt Company, Sunbeam Dress Factory, Mammoth Mart and finally retiring from Aura Manufacturing.  Rose loved to cook for her family and many friends, enjoying their company and especially the food.  She was a loving and supportive, friend, Mother, Aunt and Grandmother.  Rose is survived by her Daughter, Deborah Barone-Gannon of North Haven, her son Robert Barone Sr. of North Haven, Daughter In-law Maureen Cannon, Grandchildren, Robert Jr., Anthony, and Ava Marie, two loved nieces, Theresa Weir and Marie McMinn.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Connecticut, California, and Arizona.  She is preceded in death by her sister Josephine (Izzo) DeBenedetto, brother Vincent J. Rotondo and grandson George Gannon Jr. Rose was grateful for the help and support throughout recent years of Maureen Cannon, Vincent Castellon, and her much loved doctor, Lorenzo Galante.  The Barone family would like to thank the cardiac staff and doctors of Yale New Haven Hospital.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:00. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 8 to 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
