Eugene Philip Ciccarelli, 86, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016 (on his 57th wedding anniversary) at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Tondalo Ciccarelli.  Eugene was born in New Haven on May 16, 1930; son of the late Eugenio and Grace Juliano Ciccarelli; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean war; had worked for the former New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroads, the former Penn Central Railroad and later for Amtrak until his retirement.  Eugene was co-owner and operator of the former Sugar & Spice Restaurant of North Haven and the former Luxury Limousines, and was the owner of the former Napa Auto Parts of Hamden.  He enjoyed building and working around the home he built in North Haven; Eugene was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally.  Father of Laura J. (Antonio) Perretta and Paul E. Ciccarelli.  Grandfather of Alyssa, Jesse and P.J. Ciccarelli, Justin, Julianna, Rachael and Antonio Perretta.  Brother of Philip (Marie) Ciccarelli, Robert (Janice) Ciccarelli and the late Michael Ciccarelli.  Brother-in-law of Janet Radowiecki and Roberta (Anthony) Acunzo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN  38101-9929.
