Phyllis Corniello Santamauro Longobardi of New Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Skyview Center, Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Henry Longobardi. Phyllis was born in New Haven; daughter of the late Vincent and Almarinda Mirto Corniello and had worked for the former Strouse-Adler Company of New Haven. Mother of Andrea (Raymond) Asprelli and the late Vito Santamauro. Step-Mother of Rosanne Northrop. Grandmother of Andrew, Michael and David Santamauro, Jennifer Augusta and Jason Asprelli. Great-Grandmother of Isabelle Santamauro, Isabelle and Connor Augusta. Step-Grandmother of Rissa and Robert Northrop. Predeceased by her first husband Andrew Santamauro and her siblings Tony, Joe, John, Julius and Frank Corniello, Julia Cangiano, Jane Monaco, Louise Squeglia and Alma Iezzi.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Monday morning at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr. #3, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry Street, New Haven, CT 06513. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
