Elizabeth “Betty” N. Miller, age 100, formerly of 65 Messina Drive, East Haven, passed away peacefully at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford on Monday, May 2, 2011. She was the widow of George L. Miller. She was born on October 23, 1910, in New Haven, daughter of the late Vladas Charles and Gertruda (Kvaraciejus) Norkin (Norkunas). She grew up and lived in New Haven and East Haven until getting married and moving to Woodbridge, where she raised her children. She resided in East Haven for the past 30 years and was a member of the East Haven Senior Center until moving to Masonicare last year. She worked at the former Griest Manufacturing Company before having children. She leaves her daughter Nancy Miller (Peter Jenkin) of North Haven and son Thomas Miller (Faith) of Bethany, in addition to two grandchildren, Marybeth Miller of Boston and Scott Miller of Bethany, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John, Joseph, Vincent and Walter, and her sisters Mary Lewis, Anna Norkin, and Rose “Nellie” Ziurys. She was known for her love of dancing, her sense of humor, her energy, for helping others, and for taking walks until recently. Her family wishes to thank all the staff of Ramage 3 at Masonicare in Wallingford for their kind and loving care and attention. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m., Friday, May 6, at Northford Congregational Church, 4 Old Post Road, on the corner of Rt. 17 and Rt. 22, Northford.
