Anthony C. “Jake” Fusco, Sr., 94, of Governors Drive, North Haven passed way Thursday, May 5, 2011 at St. Raphael’s Hospital. He was the husband of 53 years to the late Ellen Acampora Fusco. Born in New Haven on September 15, 1916; son of the late Michael and Angelina Ematruda Fusco. Jake had worked for the former CT Hard Rubber Co. for many years until his retirement and had served his country faithfully during WW II as a Sergeant in the 160th Division of the U.S. Army Air Corp. Father of Anthony C. Fusco, Jr. and his wife Janet of North Haven. Grandfather of Jennifer Elia and her husband Stephen Elia III of Wilton, Michael A. Fusco and his wife Alison of Medford, MA. Great grandfather of Sydney Nicole Elia, Stephen Alexander Elia and Ryan Joseph Elia. Brother of Rose Amodio of North Haven, Teresa Tiroletto of New Haven and the late Elvira Acampora, Lena Cretella, Philomena Chieppo, Elizabeth Faugno, Anna Palmieri, Margaret Rusate, Edith St. John, Sophie Toscano, Alfred, Albert, James and William Fusco. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Daniel Kellner and Associates, The Hospital of St. Raphael’s, Whitney Manor and the Agency on Aging of South Central CT for all the excellent care and comfort given to Jake.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Monday morning at 11:30. Family and friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:30. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery.
