John Joseph Arpin, 96, formerly of Hamden passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 in South Carolina. He was the husband of 64 years to Mary V. Linsley Arpin. Born in New Haven, he retired from AmTrak after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church; the Cheshire Grange No. 23 and the New Haven Pomona Grange No. 5. He served in the U.S. Army and was a wonderful father and husband. He loved being outdoors and was a collector of American Flyer trains. Father of Laurie Babin of Irmo, SC. Brother of Arthur Arpin of Branford.
His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen’s Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm.
