Charles Walter Munson, 91, of North Haven, formerly of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. Husband of the late Laura Mae Bazarian Munson. Charles was born in Waterbury on December 19, 1922; son of the late Walter Stanley and Jane Bryan Munson. Charles was a Boy Scout and Sea Scout, he served his country faithfully in the Army Air Force during World War II in Italy, and was a member of various church choirs and bands throughout his life. Charles worked a variety of jobs, before his thirty-year tenure at Pratt and Whitney. Father of Wayne (Beatrice Manning) Munson, Lee (Ellen Isley) Munson and Leslie (Stacey) Munson. Grandfather of Christopher, Colin, Jaclyn and Alexandra Munson. The family would like to thank the staff at Masonicare for the great care given to Charles over the past four years.
Funeral Services with full military honors will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday evening at 4:00. Family and friends may call from 2:00 pm until time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Beaverdale Memorial Park. It's impossible to put into words the sorrow I feel at the loss of your dad. Just know how much he was loved by everyone his life ever touched. I've been re-reading some of the letters he sent me through the years, and even on this saddest of days, his humor brings a smile to my face. He was a very special person and it was my deepest honor to call him Uncle Charlie.
