Anthony G. Copeland of North Haven, loving husband of Carol Copeland, peacefully passed away on May 8, 2011 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was a long time resident of North Haven. Born in New Haven on July 27, 1946 to the late G. Gordon and Thelma (Larrabee) Copeland. Anthony was a graduate of Eaglebrook School and Berwick Academy and attended Boston University. Father of Seth and Bonnie Copeland; step-father of Shannon Reilly and Erin (Justin) Reilly Amore; brother of Penelope (John Parker) Arnold; brother-in-law of Joan (Everett) Shaw; grandfather to Hunter and Austin Makielski and Jayde Reilly Amore; uncle of Alexandra Arnold and Gwendolyn Arnold Beck-Delashmutt; and great-uncle of Calvin and Cooper Beck. He will be missed as he was a very kind and generous soul who touched the hearts of many.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 20th, 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Father Michael J. McGivney Center for Cancer Care, c/o Saint Raphael Foundation, Inc., 1450 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511-4405.
