Dante C. Carboni, 88, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Marguerite Pelletier Carboni.  Dante was born in New Haven on July 17, 1928; son of the late Dante J. and Emilia Vitali Carboni; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean war; had worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for many years retiring as a Tech Representive; was a member of the American Legion; enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping at Hidden Acres in Preston, CT and loved feeding the birds.  Father of Danette C. Kennedy and the late Dante C. Carboni II, Dawn Alison Carboni and Dante C. Carboni III. Grandfather of Brian (Kerry) Kennedy and Katherine (Milo) Surdam.  Great-Grandfather of Mikka Ashland Surdam, Kaya Emily Surdam, Molly Grace Kennedy and Talia Bridget Surdam.  Brother of Daniel S. Carboni, Donna Falcone and the late Diana Barone.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his dear friends Bill and Cill Migliaccio. Predeceased by his Son-In-Law James M. Kennedy, who held a special place in his heart.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00.  Interment with full military honors will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.  The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
