Phyllis Ann Frye Ford, age 89, of Masonic Health Center, Wallingford, formerly of Maple Avenue, North Haven died on Wednesday August 3, 2016 in Wallingford. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Anna W. Kulberg Frye and Howard H. Frye. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Ford, Sr. and mother of Robert F. Ford, Jr. of New Haven, David H. (and Susan) Ford of Canton, MI, and Paul C. (and Rubi) Ford of Windermere, FL. The grandmother of Robert Ford III and Sarah Ford, of Guilford: David (and Heather) Ford, Jr. of Riverside, CA, Brian Ford of Canton, MI; Renae Ford and Ronin Ford of Windermere, FL. Great grandmother of David Ford III and Claire Ford of Riverside, CA and Raigen Ford of Canton, MI. Sister of Shirley Hurlbut of Stuart, FL, Donna Jean Trunko of Rocky River, OH and the late Carolyn Chernushin, Leonard C. Frye and Howard M. Frye all of Cleveland, OH. Mrs. Ford was an Accountant and a full charge Bookkeeper for several local companies. Also, Phyllis was self-employed as Accounting Services. She was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and received her MBA from the University of New Haven. Phyllis was a member of the League of Women Voters, Hamden-North Haven and served as Treasurer as well as other positions for the League. Also, a member of the Yale University Women’s Organization and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wallingford, CT. She enjoyed her Bridge Club, traveling, painting and music.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30 with the Rev. MaryAnn Purtill officiating. Family and friends may call from 8:30 am until time of service. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’s name may be made in support of Masonicare Hospice to the Masonic Charity Foundation of CT, Wallingford, CT 06492.
