Geraldine Ann Muzyka Kyc, 80, of 401 Clintonville Road, North Haven passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the CT Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Leonard M. Kyc, Sr. Born in New Haven on February 14, 1931; a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Waselik Muzyka. Mrs. Kyc was a resident of North Haven of over 50 years; was a parishioner of both St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church of New Haven and St. Barnabas Church of North Haven; was a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Church Sestryts; Immaculate Conception Society; member of their Pyrohy Committee and member of the Mr. & Mrs. Club. She was a homemaker who held several part time positions while raising her children and was happiest spending time with her family and friends including her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Devoted mother of Debra Kyc Brozek and her husband Brian V. Brozek of Jacksonville, FL and Leonard M. Kyc, Jr. of New Haven. Sister of Edward Muzyka of East Haven and the late John Muzyka. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, New Haven at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. Panachyda service at 7:00 pm. Your mom was a beautiful person who was always concerned about the kids and family. I will always remember her beautiful smile and gentle way.
