Sylvio J. Ferrari, 88, of William Street, North Haven passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Mary J. Melillo Ferrari. Born in North Haven on April 27, 1923; son of the late Louis and Albina Cargnani Ferrari. Sylvio had worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Wallace Silversmiths of Wallingford for many years until his retirement; he had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during WW II; was a member of the East Shore, Jolly Time, Ridge Road and North Haven Senior Centers; enjoyed golf, bowling and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Father of Sylvia L. Ferrari, Cynthia J. Ferrari both of North Haven, Debra L. Esposito and her husband Dennis of Hendersen, NV. Brother of Mario Ferrari of North Haven and the late Leo and Angelo Ferrari.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday (TODAY) from 2 to 4 pm.
