We were just all calling this weekend to wish Matilda a Happy Birthday, and we couldn’t get a hold of her. So I found neighbors’ phone number, and Jo Ann, a few houses away, told me the really sad news. I’m sharing this with all the Texas family, as we have all been calling. We loved Matilda very much, and I’m so sad that she is no longer with us. Matilda was such a role model for me with her world travelling and independance!!! God bless to the rest of her family up there, and she and you are in my prayers. Cheryl
We had tried calling last evening for her birthday, and Cheryl found out the news.
We are so sorry to hear she passed away. Condolences to family & friends.
Matilda was always such a strong & lively inspiration in our lives We still keep up the tradition of making Vanilla Ice Cream for guests. (She loved it). No place was off limits to her in her travels, and she always took time to swing by, no matter how far away. We know she is now with Werner & her family. We loved her very much, and she holds a special place in our hearts.
Mrs. Jenschke was my High School gym teacher in 1976. She was a great lady and very inspiring and fun. I was very glad to know her and am heartened to know she lived a long and fulfilling life.
