Louise Cerrone DeMonico, 89, resident of North Haven for the past 60 years passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Giro DeMonico for 65 years until his passing in 2014. Louise was born in New Haven on Sept 25, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ambrose Cerrone; was a founding member of St. Frances Cabrini parish and an original member of the St. Frances Cabrini Women’s Club for many years. Most recently, Louise became a member of the Sons & Daughters of Italy Lodge 2805 of North Haven where she enjoyed attending meetings and many events. She also enjoyed many winters in Florida with her beloved husband. Mother of Stephen DeMonico wife Katherine, Teresa DeMonico Signore, husband Stephen all of Wallingford and Anne DeMonico Gorman, husband Greg of North Haven. Grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 5 with one on the way; she was lovingly known to all as “Nonnie”. Predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends and family are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven Monday afternoon for a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), PO Box 310909, Newington, CT 06131, which she was passionate about supporting. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
