Josephine E. Ingenito Malavasi, 97, formerly of 165 Clintonville Road, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Connecticut Baptist Home, Meriden with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Emadio “Phil” Malavasi.  Josephine was born in New Haven on May 5, 1917; daughter of the late Francesco and Elena Attard Ingenito and worked for the former North Haven Nursery and the former Alexander’s Department Store.  She was a parishioner of St. Barnabas Church since 1947, a member of the Columbiettes, and the North Haven and St. Stephen Church Senior Centers.  Mother of Denise Malavasi, Camille Weyant and the late Joseph Malavasi. Mother-in-law of Debbie Malavasi. Grandmother of Chris (Nick) Morello, Katherine (Michael) McCormick, Kimberly (Jeremy) Sherin, Jenna and Jeffery Malavasi and the late Eric Weyant.  Also survived by four great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her siblings Vera Casso, Gabriel Ingenito and Angelina Matas.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning, April 11th at 10:30.  Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 am.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT  06067.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
