Angelina Rose Fusco Amodio, 92, of Fitch Street, North Haven passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. She was the wife of the late Mariano James Amodio. Born in New Haven on September 15, 1918; a daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Fusco. “Rosie”, as she liked to be called, was married to her husband for 70 years. She was a woman who was dedicated to give her sons a better life and worked hard at many positions to achieve her goal. They built their own home and sacrificed to give their boys an education. Rosie also took great pride in the delicious Italian meals she prepared and placed in front of those who sat at her table. Her best friends were her nine sisters who would gather at each others homes and enjoy those times they spent together. It was an amazing family of fifteen children who left their legacy to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mother of James Amodio of Hamden, Dr. Michael & Catherine Amodio of North Haven. Grandmother of James & Tara Amodio of Wallingford, David Amodio of New York City, Michael Amodio of Milan, Italy, Kristen Amodio of North Haven and Steven Amodio of Burkina Faso, Africa. Great-grandmother of Avery Amodio of Wallingford, Pietro Amodio of Milan, Italy and Nico Amodio of New York City. Sister of Teresa Tiroletto of New Haven and the late William, Albert, Alfred, James and Anthony Fusco, Elizabeth Faugno, Anna Palmieri, Philomena Chieppo, Margaret Rusate, Edith St. John, Lena Cretella, Sophie Toscano and Elvira Acampora.
Family and friends may call at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Sunday (TODAY) from 3 to 7 pm. Funeral services and interment will be private in All Saints Cemetery.
