Philip C. Palmisano, 76, of 39 Fallon Drive, North Haven passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Alyce Bagnall Palmisano. Mr. Palmisano was born in New Haven on October 13, 1934; son of the late Ignazio and Nancy Leonardo Palmisano. A graduate of the former New Haven Teacher’s College (now SCSU), he was a Teacher for the West Haven Board of Education for 33 years until his retirement. Philip had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army; was a retired member of the International Alliance of Theatrical & Stage Employees Local #74 of New Haven; member of the Knights of Columbus-Father Donaher Council of North Haven; founding member of the First Independent Club of New Haven; Past President of the WHEA; member of the North Haven Democratic Town Committee; member of the Prihillian Club of North Haven; member of the American Legion/Murray-Reynolds Post #76 of North Haven; member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of North Haven and was an avid New York Yankee’s fan. Father of Dr. Philip C. Palmisano (Dr. Meg Palmisano) of Northford, Brenda P. Maher of North Branford, William N. Palmisano (fiancé Carolyn Law) of Durham, Andrew J. Palmisano (Ginger) of Altamonte Springs, FL, Kristen Moore (Jason) of Durham and Matthew J. Palmisano (Dr. Cynthia Palmisano) of New Haven. Grandfather of Robert Emmett Maher, Jr. (fiance Danielle Pannone), Emilee Maher, Jeremiah, William and Andrew Palmisano, Jr., Oliver Bouteiller IV, Aiden and Jameson Moore, Caden Palmisano, Nicolas Reveles and the late Allyson Palmisano. Great-grandfather of Nicholas and Lillian Maher. Also survived by his son-in-law Robert Emmett Maher, Sr. of West Haven. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Valerie Ross Palmisano.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue MONDAY morning at 9:30. A funeral service will be conducted in St. John’s Episcopal Church, North Haven at 10:00. The visiting hours will be SUNDAY (TODAY) from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be held on TUESDAY morning at 11:00 in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
