Dr. Ann Capecelatro Levenduski, 91, a lifelong resident of Orange passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Apple Rehab Laurel Woods, East Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Levenduski. Dr. Ann was born in Orange on January 11, 1925; daughter of the late Gennaro and Frances Cuzzocreo Capecelatro; she received her Optometry Degree from Pennsylvania State College of Optometry and operated her own practice in New Haven for many years and North Haven until her retirement. Dr. Ann was Past President of the Graduate Club, served on the Board of Governors at the University of New Haven, the Board of Trustees at Cheshire Academy, and the State Board of Examiners for Optometry; Past President of the Community Soup Kitchen and was a member of the Republican Women’s Auxiliary for the Town of Orange. Dr. Ann was recognized by Who’s Who and American Women. Loving mother of David J. Levenduski, Kathryn Clarke and her husband Gregg. Loving and devoted grandmother of Kyle and Tyler Clarke. Sister-in-law of Elaine and Gloria Capecelatro. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, former Orange First Selectman Ralph E. Capecelatro and John L. Capecelatro. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the nurses and staff at the Apple Rehab Laurel Woods especially nurse Jamey and aide Judy for the excellent comfort and care they provided to our mom and gram over the past years.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Wednesday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Ann and Joe Levenduski were the first adults whom I was allowed to call by their first names. Ann was a wonderful person,sorry to see her go
