Ronald Paul Harper, 76, a resident of East Haven for over 50 years, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home. Beloved husband of the late Clara Puglia Harper. Born on February 5, 1938 in Bridgeport, CT to Arthur and Nora Kennedy Harper. He graduated from Hamden High School, served his country faithfully in the US Army, before going to work for Amtrak Railroad for 30 years. Ronald was an avid Bocce player at the East Haven Rec. Center and Bella Vista Courts. Father of Laura (Stephen) Haddon, Michael (Michelle) Harper and Ronald A. Harper. Grandfather of Stephanie Haddon, Francine (Nathan) Miller, Crystal (Daniel) Butler, Cherie, Olivia and Matthew Harper. Brother of the late Arthur Harper, Janice Lettini, Kenneth Harper and Eleanor McQuaid. Also survived by three great grandchildren.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 11:00. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated is Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:30. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 am.
