Mary Margaret Bolan Kirby, 86, of North Haven, beloved wife of the late James Howard Kirby, died peacefully at home on August 18, 2011. Mary was born on December 23, 1924 in New Haven to the late John Patrick and Mary Dwyer Bolan. She graduated from Commercial High School in New haven in 1942. She attended nursing school at Norwalk General Hospital and later graduated from New haven Business College. She worked for Brock Hall Dairy in Hamden for many years then as head bookkeeper for Fritz and Hawley Opticians in New Haven until her retirement in 1986. She loved traveling, with many visits to her dear friends Sue and Gerry Killoughery in Ireland. Other vacations took her to England, Scotland, Italy, Austria, Washington, California and Oregon. Many summers were enjoyed with her family in Hampton Beach, NH. She was devoted to her family, being
predeceased by her beloved sisters Helen Bolan Redmond and Katherine V. Bolan. She is survived by her loving daughters Mary Kirby Dumont and her husband Donald and Patricia Kirby Tango and her husband John. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughters Kelly Dumont-Haury, Aimee D. Consiglio, Tara K. Dumont and Casey C. Tango. She also leaves behind her beloved niece Kathleen Redmond Grimaldi. She lived a wonderful and full life, loved by all who knew her. We will miss you Umma.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s name to Gaylord Hospital, Gaylord Farm Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with her arrangements.
