John A. Whitmore, Sr., 49, of Knight Lane, North Haven passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Diana Katynski Whitmore. John was born in New Haven on September 30, 1961, son of Don (Corinne) Whitmore, Sr. of North Haven and the late Doreen Andrus Whitmore. John had worked was a salesman at McDermott until his illness. Father of Cheryl A. Whitmore , Sarah J. Whitmore and John A. Whitmore, Jr. Brother of Donald A. Whitmore, Jr. and Gina M. Ferris both of Clinton, Heather (Joseph) Porteriko of Glastonbury and Jodi L. Whitmore of East Haven. John was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Herbert and Elizabeth Scarano Whitmore, Sr. and maternal grandparents Vick and Lillian Andrus. John is also survived by a host of family and friends.
His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 PM.
It really saddened me to see that John had passed, I always looked forward to speaking with him, he was a good friend, he will be greatly missed, my sympathy goes out to his family, May he rest in peace..
