William R. Beavis, 70, of North Haven, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of 53 years to Geraldine Meeker Beavis. Bill was born in New Haven on February 25, 1941; a son of the late Edward G. and Anna A. Goodspeed Beavis and had worked as a plumber for the Plumbers Local #777 for many years until his retirement. Bill was a member of the Plumbers Local #777 retirees; was a New York Giants fan; enjoyed old movies and Dolly Parton. Father of Patricia (Robert) Nicolella, Sandra (Anthony) Anastasio and William C. Beavis. Grandfather of Robert, Randal and Nicholas Nicolella, Joseph and Andrew Anastasio. Great-grandfather of Hailey Nicolella. Brother of Caroline Kruglik, Martha Brady, Joyce (Robert) Detrick and the late Edward R. Beavis, June Scott and Arthur H. Beavis. The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You†to Yale New Haven Transplant; I.C.U.; all the doctors and nurses who cared for William over the years.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm.
