Phyllis Pagano Proto, 91, formerly of Angel Place, North Haven, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her daughter’s home in North Haven. She was the wife of the late Andrew Proto. Born in Middletown on April 1, 1920; daughter of the late Joseph and Sebastiana Flores Pagano. Phyllis had worked for Corametrics Medical Systems and later in the cafeteria for the North Haven Board of Education. She was a former member of the St. Barnabas Women’s club. Mother of Andrea (Michael) Roche of North Haven and Michael (Linda) Proto of North Branford. Grandmother of Michael (Ashley) Roche and Megan Roche, Matthew and Ryan Proto. Predeceased by her siblings, Mary Scata, Lydia Siecienski, Josephine Lancia, Lucy Wanzer, Jennie Passamano, Florence LaMarre,Salvatore (Danny), Emanuele (Bud) and Sebastian (Mike) Pagano. Phyllis lived for her family and had a strong faith and trust in God. The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to Phyllis’s caregivers, Mary, Carol, Kendra, Tracy and to all the wonderful nurses at CT Hospice Homecare.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 10:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
